Currency seized from private vehicle in Himachal

SHIMLA---The Himachal Police have seized a sum of Rs 76 lakh rupees from a private vehicle near Sunder Nagar in Mandi late on Thursday night. The money confiscated were old notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000.   Deputy Superintendent of Police Mandi Hitesh Lakhan Pal told this correspondent that the notes were wrapped in a gift pack.

  "The Fortunre car, HP 58-7707, was on its way from Manali towards Bilaspur, and it had Rs 76 lakh in it. We have arrested two people in the case," he said. He said the two held were employees of the Ski Himalayan Company in Solangnala, Manali, and they was trying to transport the amount out of the state.
