CM says no to new administrative districts in the State

DHARMSHALA------Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh while addressing a massive public meeting at Fatehpur in Kangra district after dedicating development projects worth Rs. 17 crore today, announced to open Sub-Divisional office at Fatehpur, upgradation of Community Health Centre (CHC) Fatehpur to 50 bedded hospital, Degree College at Rey, taking over Sukh  Bhatoli college by the government, to open Polytechnic at Rehan and upgradation of Rayali High School to Government Senior Secondary School.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that he was against forming separate administrative districts in the State as creation of districts would lead to massive burden on State ex-chequer. He said that if efforts were made to convert the Party District Congress Units into administrative districts, he would definitely oppose the move and not allow extra financial burden on State coffers and division of the State in few small segments.

 "I don't want that formation of these committees to create rift between the people of the State",  said  he, adding that one should not conclude that this will lead to formation of new administrative districts as any such move by anyone will have to face stiff resistance.

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that  anyone can create party units but should not dream of creation of more districts.

The Chief Minister exhorted the youth to avail benefits of skill development scheme of the State government and also avail opportunities of self employment. H said that the scope of job in government sector was quite less, the youth should acquire training in various skills suiting needs of the big industrial units in the State. He also stressed on cultivation of off-season vegetables as this could fetch better prices to the people. 

Earlier, MPP and Power Minister, Shri Sujan Singh Pathania welcomed the Chief Minister and placed forth various demands of the area, including opening of Sub-Divisional Office at Fatehpur, IPH division at Fatehpur, Government Degree College at Rey, Polytechnic institute at Rehan and Up-gradation of CHC Fatehpur to Civil Hospital. He also listed other developments of the area.

He said that BJP had made tall claims during the Lok Sabha elections and also promised that the 'black money' would be brought back from the Swiss bank and Rs 15 lakh each would be deposited in the account of every Indian. But now, the people of the country has realised that the claims of BJP in General elections fell flat and the 'Ache Din' were still awaited. 

The Minister further said that it was the Congress which raised the issue of Pong Dam oustees with the centre and if need be will again seek justice from the Apex Court. 

Pradhan Fatehpur gram panchayat, Ms. Sunita Sharma, Block President, Fatehpur, Shri Ramesh Rana and Chairman APMC, Kangra, Shri Rajinder Pathania, also welcomed the Chief Minister and spoke on the occasion and also thanked him for the development works being carried out in Fatehpur assembly segment.
