Markanda inaugurated a one day workshop of Agri Export Policy

SHIMLA-------  Agriculture Minister Dr Ram Lal Markanda today inaugurated a one day workshop of Agri Export Policy at State Management Agency of Extension Training Institute Mashobra auditorium here. He stressed the importance of natural farming in the state to double the income of farmers by 2022.

He also spoke on the pesticides residue threat to human life and the importance of value addition chain to boost agriculture exports. Dr Markanda urged the farmers to adopt crop diversification and modern technology to boost the economy of the country and the concept of self-reliance. He thanked APEDA, an arm of Union Commerce Ministry to boost infrastructure and training facilities in the state to facilitate inclusive growth.
Among those present on the occasion included Dr Rakesh Kaundal, Director Agriculture, APEDA AGM, Rajni Arora and other agriculture subject specialists.
