Himachal Pradesh stands second in the health and education sectors

SHIMLA--------------BJP State President Satpal Satti, while congratulating and hailing the efforts of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, said that Himachal Pradesh has been awarded the India Today State of the States Award survey for best performance in the health and education sectors in the category of big states of the country. . The award was presented by the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur during the India Today State of the States Conference-2019 in New Delhi.
Satpal Satti said that Himachal Pradesh stands second in the health and education sectors after Kerala with 83 percent literacy rate. There are 15,556 government and 3252 private schools in the state. Apart from this, 139 degree colleges, 5 universities, central universities, 6 medical colleges and IITs are functioning, while AIIMS is also going to be operational soon. 
Satti said that every possible effort is being made by the Jai Ram led BJP government to provide qualitative health care facilities to the people near their homes. The state government has launched Himcare scheme with the aim of providing free treatment facilities to the beneficiaries in the registered hospitals. So far, 42 crore rupees have been spent on providing treatment to 43 thousand people under this scheme. Ayushman Bharat scheme is being implemented in the state in an effective manner and Rs 33 crore has been spent to provide medical facilities to more than 35 thousand people under it.
The BJP state president said that the state has also started the Sahara scheme to take care of the economically weaker sections and people suffering from serious illness. Under the scheme, financial assistance is being provided for the treatment of serious diseases like cancer, stroke, muscle related diseases, thalassemia and Parkinson's. In addition, the Chief Minister's Medical Fund has also been established, under which financial assistance of more than four crore rupees has been provided to 192 eligible people.
Satpal Satti said that Himachal is developing rapidly in all areas. It has a healthy environment, green cover and beautiful valleys, due to which tourists from all over the world like to come here. He said that the State Government had recently organized Global Investors' Conference in which investment of 93 thousand crores was attracted. The state government is moving towards promoting industrialization so that youths can get immense employment opportunities along with improving the economy of the state.
