Education Minister opens Kabaddi competition

SHIMLA--------Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj opened the 43rd All India Civil Services Kabaddi competition from government college Chaura Maidan here today.

Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that it was a matter of great pleasure that this competition was being organised for the first time in Himachal Pradesh in which 40 teams across the nation were participating. Appreciating the efforts of the organisers, he said that such events help in promoting the spirit of sports in the employees.

Suresh Bhardwaj said that the state government was encouraging the sports in the state and the play grounds were being constructed up to the rural areas to provide opportunities to the youth to polish their skills. He urged the participating players to play a proactive role in giving message to the society for building a strong and vibrant nation.

The General Secretary of HP Secretariat Services Sports Control Board Rajesh Sharma detailed about the event.

Mayor Kusum Sadrate, Deputy Mayor Rakesh Sharma, first Arjuna Awardee of the state Suman Rawat and other prominent persons were present on the occasion.
