Special paid holiday declared on 21st October for bye-election

SHIMLA-----The State government has declared a special paid holiday on 21st October, 2019 for the registered voters of 39-Mukerian Assembly Constituency of Punjab serving/employed in the border areas of Kangra and Una districts of Himachal Pradesh, on account of bye-election from this Assembly Constituency. This was stated by the spokesperson of state government. He said that it will be applicable to all such Government/Semi government employees working in Boards, Corporations, Educational Institutions and Industrial Establishments who are registered voters of 39-Mukerian Assembly Constituency.

            He said that this holiday will also be a special paid holiday to the daily waged employees and also within the meaning of Section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

            He said that it is however, clarified that the special casual leave/special paid holiday may be given to those employees who are working in the border areas of Kangra and Una districts of Himachal Pradesh but have a right to vote in the above Assembly Constituency of the Punjab State, on the production of certificate from the concerned Presiding Officer that the employee has actually cast his/her vote.
