A presentation on Solid Waste and Liquid Effluent Treatment made

SHIMLA----A presentation on 'Solid Waste and Liquid Effluent Treatment' was made by M/s Zenith Chemical and Allied Industries, Satara, Maharashtra based Company before the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here today.

            The Chief Minister said that efficient treatment of Solid Waste and Liquid Effluents particularly in urban areas was a major concern and effective steps needed to be taken for their proper management. He said that by using effective and scientific technologies volume of solid waste could be reduced drastically. He said that odour issues from dumping sites was a major concern which needed to be addressed to properly.

            Jai Ram Thakur said that air and water emission standards could be improved by scientific treatment of industrial waste thereby helping to meet environmental industry standards and expectations of the community.  He said that the State Government may consider to introduce this technology on pilot basis in Shimla and Mandi town.

            The Company representative during the presentation said that the biowizard was a combination of treated leachate, beneficial enzymes, super catalyzing co-enzymes and co-factors, essential oils and plant extracts and specially formulated nutrients.  He said that the process was not only cost effective but also have wide range of operative conditions, long residual effective period and was 100 percent organic.

            Mayor Shimla Municipal Corporation Kusum Sadrate, Principal Secretary, Urban Development Prabodh Saxena, Member Secretary State Pollution Control Board Dr. R.K. Pruthi, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Shimla Pankaj Rai and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
