HPCA General Secretary Mr Sanjay Sharma told that the Australian team would arrive on Wednesday. The test match would be the first test match to be played at Dharamshala stadium after the HPCA got clearance to host test match from International Cricket Council in September 2015.
Mr Sharma said, "HPCA is fully prepared to host the match and hopefully the cricket lovers will witness a good game here." He said that hosting test match at Dharamshala would provide big boost to budding cricketers in the state.
The stadium was taken over by HP police on March 19, 2017. As per available information, around 1200 policemen had been deployed by the Himachal Police for the security arrangement of the house. He said hat apart from the police security, around 100 private security staff had also been deployed at the stadium and the hotel, where both the teams would be staying. HPCA claimed around 4000 tickets for the test match have already been sold in the sleepy town as the stadium could occupy 21600 audience. " The tickets sale was still on, while he admitted that due to exam time, the ticket sale had remained below expectations." Mr Sharma said. Both the teams will start practicing in the stadium from Thursday.
