Chief Minister lauds Red Cross services

SHIMLA-----Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh said that Red Cross was rendering yeomen services in providing relief to the poor and needy, besides providing necessary aid in-case of emergency.

He was interacting with the members of H.P unit of Indian Red Cross Society and H.P Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section, who met him here today on the occasion of World Red Cross Day. They also pinned up Red Cross flag to the Chief Minister.

 Shri Virbhadra Singh said that all District Red Cross branches in the State were doing commendable work in providing succor to the underprivileged and destitute.  He stressed the need for expansion of the Red Cross activities in more efficient manner.

Red Cross being the biggest NGO in the world is dedicated to alleviate suffering and protecting life during natural disasters and emergency said he. The Chief Minister appealed the people to donate generously towards Red Cross fund so that its reach could be maximized.
