SHIMLA---A 3-days’ Course on “ADR Mechanism, Effective Court & Case Management and Procedural Issues of Trial in Civil Cases” was inaugurated today by the Acting Chief Justice Sh. Mansoor Ahmad Mir in the H.P. Judicial Academy. The Course is being organized by the H.P. Judicial Academy from 26th to 28th May for the Senior & Junior Division Civil Judges of the State. 23 Judicial Officers are participating in the Course.
While inaugurating the Course, the Acting Chief Justice stressed that Section 89 and other provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure should be effectively used to provide speedy and economic justice to the general litigant public. He also emphasized that efforts should be made to settle the disputes by adopting the techniques of Alternative Disputes Resolution Mechanisms, such as, arbitration, conciliation, mediation, Lok Adalats and judicial settlement. He enlightened the Judicial Officers of various provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure, to effectively deal with the procedural issues of trial in civil cases and also advised the judicial officers to act impartially and uphold the spirit of the Constitution of India, so that the faith of the people in the judicial system is strengthened.
Sh. Rakesh Kainthla, Director of Judicial Academy welcomed the Hon’ble the Acting Chief Justice, the dignitaries and participant-officers present on the occasion.
Sh. C.B. Barowalia, Registrar General, High Court of Himachal Pradesh, Mrs. Anuja Sood, Deputy Director, Judicial Academy and Sh. Partap Singh Thakur, Central Project Coordinator, High Court of Himachal Pradesh, were also present in the inaugural ceremony of the course.
