SHIMLA--“Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) should concentrate on cricket rather than spokesperson of BJP” said Kewal Singh Pathania, Vice-chairman Forest Corporation and Sanjay Rattan , MLA Jawalamukhi while reacting to the statement of HPCA office bearers.

In a Joint statement issued here today he said that the HPCA spokesperson, making such statements should see his status first and should know where he stands in front of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh who has a distinguished political career of more than 50 years and is a senior most politician in the State. Without wanting to take name of HPCA office bearers, Kewal singh and Sanjay Rattan said that the person leveling baseless allegation against the Kangra district administration and lashing out at the congress leaders is just a mere pawn and we don’t want to take his name as he has no standing amongst the masses and appears to be spokesperson of BJP and dancing on the tune of Anurag Thakur and Prem Kumar Dhumal like a puppet.  He said that he was playing dirty politics and was now indulged in mudslinging at the officers as well as the senior leaders of congress.

Both Congress Leaders  said that Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was a man of repute and not like Prem Kumar Dhumal or Anurag Thakur who will wish to become the president or chief - patron of HPCA. Pathania advised him to stay in his limits and not try to air baseless allegation on advice of Dhumals.

They said that it was not a new thing if HPCA had made payments for the facilities it has taken from the Government at all levels. HPCA spokesperson should know that whether it is world cup cricket, twenty –twenty matches or IPL, the organizing bodies have to pay the required fee. HPCA has not done favour on the administration before also, if it had paid fee for the various facilities it took from the district administration.

Taking a jibe at HPCA spokesperson Pathania and Rattan  said that “he should tell the public that had he ever played cricket or represented Himachal anywhere in National and International game of cricket” He said that the people of Himachal had heard the name of players like Rajeev Nayyar, Vijay Sen, Rishi Dhawan etc,, but the HPCA spokesperson seemed to be a tattoo in hands of Dhumals who is kept by them to utter nonsense and do nothing for benefit of the game. “The HPCA should tell that how many players from the state it had promoted” asserted pathania.

They advised him to refrain from issuing such statements and behave like a gentleman to further avoid his insult.
