The High Court of H.P. is listing the oldest of the cases under Motor Vehicle Act for hearing to clear the backlog of such cases and the Acting Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir is hearing the appeals under Motor Vehicle Act every Friday in single bench.
Today, the Court of the Acting Chief Justice decided five appeals arising out of the awards rendered by various Motor Accidents Claims Tribunals, pertaining to the years 2006 and 2007 and awarded a compensation of Rs. 22, 79, 551/-. In one of the cases, the compensation was settled at Rs. 2,50,000/- in addition to the Rs. 50,000/- awarded by the Tribunal.
