Hamirpur------“The Congress Government in its election manifesto , which has been adopted as a policy document has promised to provide clean, transparent ,citizen friendly and efficient administration with zero tolerance towards corruption” said Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh while addressing people at Badsar, Bijri,Galore, Bara, kuthera,in Hamirpur district today.

He said that only congress party can ensure development equal development of all the areas of the State. The Chief Minister said that the fully computerized Mewa-Bamsan drinking water supply scheme amounting to Rs.75 crore was started during the congress Government and was completed within a record period of 10 months benefitting 235 villages of the area. The congress had always given priority to Hamirpur district as evident from the development works it carried out here.  Besides fulfilling the water needs of the people of the area, the congress Government gave IIT, Polytechnic Institute and now has announced a medical college for Hamirpur, besides many other development works. More than 90% of schools in Hamirpur district were opened by the previous successive congress government.

Chief Minister said that it was the first Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Y.S. Parmar who gave status of district to Hamirpur, as earlier it was a tehsil of Kangra district.

He asked that Prem Kumar Dhumal to count his achievements in Hamirpur district. Refering to Dhumal, Virbhadra Singh said that becoming Chief Minister was not enough, one has to create rapport with the common man and work for upliftment of society as a whole rather than adopting autocratic style of functioning and keep revengeful  attitude.

Refering to HPCA, Virbhadra Singh said that how and in what capacity the office bearers of HPCA were making unfounded statements against the Governor of the State. “this was a shameful  act” said the chief minister. In an advice to dhumals, the chief minister said that the government could think of sparing HPCA, if it transforms the association to back to Society and the body is reconstituted  democratically with representation to every district and voting rights to the players rather than to a family and few handpicked people.

Chief Minister said that when the BJP framed false cases against him and submitted charge-sheet to the Governor against him , none of the congress leaders including him raised fingers towards the Governor for his or her decision. We respect the constitutional post and abide by the law of the land, said the chief minister. “Whenever Prem Kumar Dhumal came to power he resorted to dictatorship and it seemed that Prem kumar dhumal was more of a dictator than a refined politician.

Today, Dhumals were praising Modi, but they don’t  know that Modi was only in Media and the ground reality was different . To be in limelight modi was spending crore of rupees , said the cief minister. From where he was managing such a huge amount, questioned the Chief Minister which should be examined and verified by the Election commission of India.

Earlier, late yesterday evening, the chief minister while addressing the Himachal people at Mohali and those residing in and around anandpur sahib exhorted them  to vote in favour Ambika Soni, the congress parliamentary candidate from Anandpur Sahib, in Punjab.  Virbhadra Singh also addressed the election rally at Nangal late evening yesterday.
