Prashasan Janta Ke Dwar held at Khundian


Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister in endeavour of the Government to bring administration at the door steps of the people held ‘Prashasan Janta Ke Dwar’ at Khundian in district Kangra today where hundreds of people from all walks of life, from all over Kangra district called on the Chief Minister who alongwith senior officers of the district listened to their problems and grievances. 365 applications were received out of which 120 were disposed off instantly by the Chief Minister by passing necessary directions to the concerned authorities to take required action in the matter promptly. Majority of applications related to funds for local developmental activities, social welfare, drinking water problems, irrigation facilities, employment to the local youth, revenue related cases, road connectivity, provision of staff in educational and health institutions etc.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that redressal of public grievances was being accorded top priority and the ‘Prashasan Janata Ke Dwar’ Programme was a step in this direction. He said that it provides opportunity to the people to get their problems and grievances redressed at their door steps thereby saving them from inconvenience, which they had to face otherwise by going pillar to post. He said that large number of persons had been approaching him with their problems wherever he visits on various occasions and his endeavour remains to solve their problems without any loss of time.

Chief Minister reiterated the resolve of the State Government for providing responsive, transparent and efficient governance so as to deliver better results. He underlined the need for construction of check dams over local rivulets to re-energise the irrigation schemes. He said that an ambitious Rs. 353 crore Pandit Deen Dayal Kisan Baagwan Samridhi Yojna was under implementation in the State where 80 to 90 percent subsidy was being provided to the beneficiaries. He said that Rs. 300 crore Doodh Ganga Yojna,was also under implementation in the State besides a focused Bhed Palak Yojna which too had subsidy component ranging between 25 to 33 percent. He appealed to the local community to take benefit of the schemes to strengthen their economy. He assured people that efforts were afoot to provide functional staff in educational and health institutions.

He said that Government had decided to provide free travelling facility within a radius of 8 kms.to the students to attend their school regularly. He also sanctioned a Science Block and Rs. 3 lakh for examination hall at GSSS, Khundian. He sanctioned one Ambulance to be positioned at Khundian launched in the State under Atal Swasthya Seva to facilitate the local community with prompt emergency medical services. He said that Rs. 12.36 crore would be spent over lift drinking supply scheme in Khundian area on priority which would benefit over 13000
population of the area. He said that Rs. 1,19,90,000 had been sanctioned for mettling of Khundian – Airla road. He also announced opening of ITI in Government Sector at Khundian on priority with a view to provide local youth skilled and vocational trades training at their door step.

He said that the State Government had also passed directions to the Panchayat Secretaries, Panchayat Sahayaks to remain available in the office to the public during working hours of the week days while the patwaris had also been directed to attend to the people on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the week.

Shri Ramesh Dhwala, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minsiter and local MLA, welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for holding of ‘Prashashan Janta Ke Dwar’ in the remote area of Khundian. He said that the programme was of immense importance to the local people since it had benefited them with presentation of their applications to the Chief Minister in person.

Shri R.S.Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, also welcomed the Chief Minister on behalf of the district administration and conducted the proceedings of the programme. He said that the programme was gaining popularity and best efforts were being made to provide relief to the public. He assured the Chief Minister that the entire district administration would work in close coordination to deliver relief to the people.

Sarveen Chaudhary, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Dr. Rajan Sushant, MP Lok Sabha, Pandit Khimi Ram Sharma, MLA and State President, BJP, Shri Kripal Parmar, former MP and Vice President, State BJP, Shri Naveen Dhiman, former MLA, Smt. Shreshta Koundal, Chairperson, Zila Parishad, Shri Bhagwan Dass, Vice Chairman, Kangra Central Cooperative Bank, Shri Rattan Jagdambe, former Chairman, Zila Parishad, senior officers of various departments of the state Government and prominent people of the area were present on the occasion.
