CM launches Matrivandana On Line

Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, launched the Hindi Monthly magazine ‘Matri Vandana’ website by clicking the mouse to provide readers online service of the magazine addressed as matrivandana.org here today.

Addressing the launching ceremony Chief Minister said that the State Government would be incorporating life stories of outstanding soldiers hailing to the State in the school educational curriculum to inspire young citizens with the exemplary bravery martyrs and warriors of the State had shown for the cause of the nation. He said that the State had produced best of the soldiers who delivered best of the services to the nation. He said that the First Param Vir Chakra winner of independent India Major Som Nath Sharma belonged to Himachal Pradesh and out of four Param Vir Chakras Awarded for ‘Operation Vijay’ in Kargil Sector of Laddakh Region two were won by soldiers hailing to Himachal Pradesh. He said that stories relating to such outstanding performers would form part of educational curriculum. He said that 52 of the martyrs of Kargil belonged to Himachal Pradesh who had made the supreme sacrifice by achieving martyrdom while protecting the national boundaries in Laddakh region. He said that there were many stories relating to the exemplary bravery shown by soldiers in different operations which had earned laurels to the State.

Prof. Dhumal said that there was need to inculcate nationalism, patriotism, character building, moral values and other rich traditions of ancient Indian cultural heritage into the young generations so that they were capable of carrying forward the rich legacy of the nation into future generations. He expressed the necessity to remain vigilant against anti-national and anti-social elements who were making consistent attempts to weaken the democratic social-system of the country. He said that there had to be no compromise with the threat to the national integration, communal and social harmony which had to be protected at all costs and where awakened society could play pivotal role. He lauded the efforts of Matri Vandana Sansthan for coming out with a magazine which was a true family magazine filled with rich cultural heritage of the country, moral values and character building etc. ingredients. He said that such magazines would be instrumental in strengthening the national integration and protecting the rich cultural heritage of the country for the future generations. He said that with the launching of website to provide magazine online to the readers the world over the readership was bound to increase tremendously in coming time. He advised the management to make best use of the information technology to keep pace with the modern communication modes.

Chief Minister called it a historic day for launch of the website since it coincided with the birthday of great philosopher Swami Vivekananda who forced the western world to admit the dominance of ancient Indian culture over others in the
world. He also inaugurated the photo exhibition put up by the organizers on the occasion.

Shri Balbir, Prant Pracharak, said that the motive behind bringing out such a magazine was to keep young generation posted with the rich culture of the Indian social system as also educate them about the ancient traditions of the country. He said that with a view to reach larger sections of the society need had surfaced to make its appearance on the internet through the website so that wider readership was gained in favour of the ideology.

Dr. Daya Nand Sharma, Editor, Matri Vandana, proposed vote of thanks and assured that concerted efforts would be made to regularly update the website to provide latest information to the readers.

Shri Narender, Manager, Matri Vandana, spoke about the contents of the website as he threw light upon the historical background of the magazine which was launched by Shri Rajju Bhaiyya from Mandi way back in 1994.

Bimla Kashyap, MP Rajya Sabha, Shri Suresh Bhardwaj and Shri Tejwant Negi, MLAs, Shri Ram Swaroop Sharma, Vice Chairman, HP State Civil Supplies Corporation, Shri J.S.Rana, Deputy Commissioner, Dr. M.P.Sood, Secretary, HP State Electricity Board, Shri B.D.Sharma, Director of Information and Public Relations, other dignitaries and prominent people of the town were present on the occasion.
