Exiled Tibetans in Dharamshala have decided to boycott the use of Chinese goods as a part of their 'freedom' struggle against the Chinese suppression.Protestors took to the streets and shouted slogans like 'Shame on China' and 'Boycott Made in China.'"We are boycotting Chinese goods because the Chinese government has been doing a lot of oppression and violation of human rights in Tibet," said Tsering, a protestor.Articles and items of Chinese origin are being collected from the market place and burnt in a bonfire. They expect the intellectual elite class to come forward and support them in their cause.
Tibetans turned up in large numbers today and took out a protest march in the town to register their protest against the ‘brutality of the Chinese Army’ in Lhasa and other parts of Tibet on the innocent monks, nuns, peaceful protesters and other Tibetan citizens.
They raised the Tibetan flag and displayed anti-China messages to the world community to put pressure on China to respect human rights in its territory and stop the killing of Tibetans. They demanded that international media in Tibet should be allowed. The protesters claimed that nearly 140 demonstrators had been killed so far at the hands of Chinese Red Army in Lhasa and other parts of Tibet.Hundreds of Tibetans flanked by their senior leaders from the area and their government in exile in Dharamsala started their protest march from the bus stand and went up to the office of Sirmour Deputy Commissioner peacefully through the main market of Nahan.Last evening too Tibetans had organised protests in Bhoop Pur and Puruwala villages under the Paonta subdivision and burnt the Chinese flag. After the protest, Tibetan leaders led by Dr Sonam Damdul, MP of Tibetan Parliament and representative of Tibetan government in Exile Dharamsala demanded that the Red Cross must come forward to help Tibetan people in Tibet and UNO and the world community must stand against the atrocities meted by the Chinese government on Tibetans. On this occasion, Geeta Ram Thakur, secretary, Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society, expressed his solidarity with the Tibetan people and demanded that the Government of India must support the Tibetan cause openly.

About boycotting the Olympic Games, i’m not sure it will do any good…On the contrary it will upset the Chinese People who will only understand what the Party will tell to understand…
We’d better go as the OG are a great means to directly communicate with the Chinese People without the communist filter.
There are some athletes who have decided to wear a green ribbon as a sign of protest. I think it’s a great initiative that the whole world will see( including Chinese citizens) and that the Party will have difficulty to explain…
