CM launches three citizen services of MC Shimla


           
                        11 services of MC made online to ensure transparency and efficiency

SHIMLA------Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launched three government to citizen services (G2C) in Municipal Corporation, Shimla viz. online garbage charges collection application, online building planning application and rent and lease application through State Information Technology department, here today.

            The Chief Minister said that with the launch of these services, 11 services had been made online in the Municipal Corporation. He said that the objective of these applications was to make transparency in the working of the government, to ensure greater efficiency, objectivity and speed in providing services and information to the people, eliminating the middlemen, providing single window for all G2C Services at the Corporation level. He said that these services besides ensuring efficient interface would also ensure cost effective and time bound citizen centric services to the people.

            Jai Ram Thakur said that the online services would ensure online payment through payment gateway and reduce the footfall of the citizens to the Municipal office.  The citizens could track their transaction status and their payment record etc. through these services thereby reducing un-necessary inconvenience.

            He said that online building planning permission application would facilitate the people to apply online for approval of their building maps. He said that all parameters laid down for approval would also be ensured and the owners would be able to know about the status of the maps submitted with the click of the button.

            Jai Ram Thakur said that state government was committed to provide transparent governance to the people for which utilization of maximum information technology was being ensured. This would not only provide quick services and information to the citizens.

            Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Mayor Kusum Sadrate, Deputy Mayor Rakesh Sharma, Councillors, Director Information Technology Rohan Chand Thakur, Shimla MC Commissioner Pankaj Rai and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
