Governor honours meritorious students of DAV college Kangra

Dharmshala----Governor Acharya Devvrat has called on the youth to concentrate more on education, health and values which would take them to new heights in their life. 

He was speaking while presiding over the annual function of Mehar Chand Mahajan DAV College, Kangra on Wednesday.

He said that parents and teachers were their most interest seekers so they should respect them as their guidance would help them to proceed ahead in life.

The Governor said that the adolescent age was foundation of the future life and at this age group the children should be more responsible and focus on studies to ensure success.

Acharya Devvrat said the D.A.V. College, Kangra was one of the old and premier education institute in the district which has given a number of meritorious students who were serving at top positions in various fields.  He expressed happiness that this institute was leading in imparting quality education.

He congratulated the girl students who had excelled in receiving the awards. He said girls were leading in every sphere of life which was must for overall development and prosperity of the nation. He urged the students to be a part of campaign against drugs and contribute in making a healthy and vibrant society. 

The Governor honoured the meritorious students on the occasion. 

Earlier, Principal Dr. Baljit Singh honoured the Governor and detailed about the academic achievements of the college.

Vice-Principal Anita Vohra welcomed the Governor on the occasion. 

Professor Baljeet Patyal read out annual report of the college.

A colourful cultural programme and skit was performed by the students of the college.

President, Municipal Committee, Kangra Ashok Sharma, President, old Students Association Ajay Verma, ADM M.R. Bhardwaj, Additional SP Dinesh Sharma were also present on the occasion.
