Dharmshala-----Himachal Pradesh is participating in the world skills competition for the very first time and Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam is the organizing agency with the help of the Technical Education Department. The competition was held in two stages: Zonal Level and the State Level. In all there have been nine sectors for which the competition was held in the state. All skilled youth born on or after January 1 2007 could participate in the competition. From each of the three zones one winner and two runner ups were selected for the state level competition. The winner of the zonal level will be provided Rs. 10000 and the runners up gets Rs. 2000. The winners of the state level competition gets a chance to compete in the Regional Level competition and later in the National Level Competition. In addition the winner gets Rs. 50000 and runners up will be given Rs. 20000 cash prize. All these prizes will be given by the Chief Minister in the month of May.
The state level competition "Hunar ke Sartaj" the Himachal Skill Competition 2018 in the sector of Fashion Technology was held at NIFT Kangra. The winners of the zonal level competitions held in the month of March participated in this event. The competition was inaugurated by SDM Kangra Mr. Shashipal Negi. Mr. Dinesh Rangra Joint Director NIFT welcomed the Chief Guest and Mr. Sudhir Bhatia, District Coordinator-Kangra under whose supervision the whole event was taking place. Mr. Rangra thanked HPKVN for providing NIFT the opportunity to host the event of such magnitude. Mr. Sudhir Bhatia in his address to the audience mentioned the need of development of skills for employability. He said that HPKVN is taking initiatives in many sectors to enhance the skills of the youth of Himachal. Moreover he also said that the HPKVN is organizing this competition for the very first time in the state and the participation of the candidates has been very encouraging. He thanked SDM for being the Chief Guest and NIFT for being the host for the event. SDM Kangra in his speech said that such competitions provide a platform to the youth to showcase their skills and that every youth must participate in these kinds of events. He was thankful to HPKVN and NIFT for providing him the opportunity to interact with the skill competition winners.
The competition in the sector of Fashion Technology had three phases the Design (Sketching), Pattern making and the Garment Construction. All the participants showcased their skills enthusiastically. The Jury members comprised of Ms. Paramita Mazumdaar, Ms. Neeru Mittal and Mr. Varun Gautam, all eminent and experienced people in the field of fashion designing. Mr. Vinod Sharma the head of the organizing committee, the NIFT faculty, were among the prominent persons present during the event.
The winner of the competition was.................................................... while the runner up was ................................................ The winner will get a cash prize of Rs. 50000 and the runner up gets a cash prize of Rs. 20000. Moreover these two will be participating in the regional level completion and can further go to Kazan in Russia if the skill level of these candidates is found as such. The cash prizes to all the winners will be given by the Chief Minister at a function to be held in the month of May 2018.
