Sirmour Delegation Meets Union Tribal Minister for Tribal Status to Trans Giri Areas/

SHIMLA-----Union Tribal Development Ministry today assured Hatti community of Sirmour District that it will take positive and time bound steps to meet their long pending  demand of providing tribal status to the community  to integrate them with mainstream society and pave way for their speedy economical and social development through various upliftment programmes of central govt ministries and state govts .

The assurance was given  by union tribal development minister Sh Jual ORam  in New Delhi to a   delegations of elected representatives of Sirmour District comprising community leaders of Hatti community , MLAs of concerned areas , Panchayat  Raj Institutions representatives   which met him  today under the leadership of Sh Virender Kashyap Shimla Member Parliament and   demanded  declaration  of entire  Trans – Giri area of Sirmour District  as  Tribal  Area on the pattern of Jaunsar --Bawar  area of adjoining Uttrakand state due to similarity in topography, geography , social , cultural and other similaries in customs , traditions and life style of local populations with their neighbour in  Uttrakand state.The entire Trans Giri area still practices ancient traditions and culture that are different from rest of country 

 

Shimla Member Parliament Sh Virender Kashyap  led delegation told union tribal development minister that state govt has recommended the declaration of around 2.5 lakh population of  entire Hatti Community   in   entire Trans Giri as Tribal Area and told that Hatti Community of sirmour district  living in  127 panchayats in Rajgarh, Shillai , Sangrah, Kamrau and Paonta Sahib area  fulfills all eligibility conditions laid down by Lokur Committee  for declaring the area as Scheduled Tribe area as Hatti community lead a separate and excluded existence and are not fully  assimilated into modern mainstream society due to tough geographical and topographical conditions and limited avenues of employments due to lack of modern educational facilities in the area . He told                                                                     

 that area has not been given tribal status despite of the facts that various survey reports have repeatedly recommended granting of tribal status to area and added that  Trans Giri area and Jonsar Babar shared same lifestyle, culture and traditions but the later was granted tribal status when it was shifted to Uttar Pradesh in 1967  but   Trans Giri area was not granted  the tribal status despite facts favouring it and added that the Trans Giri and Jaunsar Babar area both  remained part of earstwhile Sirmour Kingdom and both areas have unique similarity in all aspects and needs to be treated at par in all spheres.

He told that Union Home Minister Sh Rajnath Singh during his election campaign in Nahan in Sirmour District during  parliamentary election in year 2014 had assured Hatti Community that BJP Led govt will provide justice to them and pave way for their speedy development 

 

Sh Virender Kashyap Shimla Member Parliament said that this case has been repeatedly raised in parliament and various other forms and constitutional  bodies  for speedy justice to the people of Trans Giri Areas so as the area could be developed at par with other areas and local youths could get reservations under Tribal category and the budgetary provisions available under Tribal Sub Plan and other central govt schemes could be  provided to local area for overall development  and integrate the area with rest of world for emotional integrations 

Sh Baldev Tomar MLA Shillai , Sh Suresh Kashyap MLA Pachhad, Sh Sukh Ram Choudhary EX MLA , Sh Chander Mohan Thakur and Chairpersons of District Council Sirmour , BDC Rajgarh, Paonta Sahib, Sangrah and Shillai and Major functionaries of Hatti samiti  were part of the delegations
