SHIMLA----High Court of H.P. today directed the S.D.M. Nalagarh, District Solan to remain present before the court on 6th October in a matter which pertains to the rising Industrial pollution in Nalagarh city. The Pollution Control Board has filed status report in this matter. The court also issued direction to the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Indistries Association and Baddi Technical Training Institute to file response to the status report filed by the Pollution Control Board.
Division Bench comprising the Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Sandeep Sharma passed these orders on a petition taken up suo moto by the Court as Public Interest Litigation on a news item published in English daily " The Tribune" on dated July 1st under headline "Pollution rises in Baddi as effluent plant under used" the news item suggested that less then 50% industrial units of Baddi Industrial area send untreated effluents to the CETP (Common Effluent Treatment Plant).
