SHIMLA---Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh flagged off citizen solidarity march for disaster reduction from the Ridge here today.

            Speaking on the occasion, he said various awareness programmes were being implemented at the State and district levels for management of disasters. The school children were also being made aware through training programmes. He said efforts were being made for effective management of disasters so that loss to human lives and property could be minimized.

            The students from various schools and all the colleges of the town participated in the march.

            Additional Chief Secretary Shri Tarun Shridhar, Special Secretary Revenue Shri D.D. Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Shri Rohan Chand Thakur and other senior officers of the State government were present on the occasion.
