CM Pays homage to former Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi

Shimla---Former Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi was today remembered on his 25th death anniversary by Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh. Chief Minister and several State leaders paid homage at his memorial at Sadbhawana Chowk, Chotta Shimla.
Amongst the Ministers, who accompanied the Chief Minister were IPH Minister, Smt. Vidya Stokes and Forest Minister, Shri Thakur Singh Bharmouri.
'Shanti Mantra' was recited on the occasion.
Shri Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on this day in 1991 in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu by a suicide bomber when he was on election campaign.
This day is also observed as Anti-Terrorism Day in the country. Chief Minister administered 'Sadbhawana Shapath' to the people assembled to pay their floral tributes to the former Prime Minister.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shri Nand Lal, Chairman State Agriculture Marketing Board Dr. Subhash Manglet, Mayor Municipal Corporation Shimla Shri Sanjay Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Shri Tikendar Panwar, Vice-Chairman State Forest Corporation Shri Kewal Singh Pathania, Advisor Agriculture Marketing Board Shri Devendar Shyam, Former Mayor Shri Sohan Lal, Director Information and Public Relations Shri Dinesh Malhotra, Commissioner MC Shri Pankaj Rai and Councillors were also present on the occasion amongst others.
