New Delhi-----" Pledging its unflinching support to Goods & Services Tax and calling for its early implementation in the Country, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on behalf of 6 crore traders of the Country, is all set to launch a national public advocacy campaign aiming to impress upon Congress & other political parties to support GST now without any further delay"-said CAIT National President Mr. B.C.Bhartia & Secretary General Mr. Praveen Khandelwal today at a joint press statement released here today at New Delhi. The campaign will be launched at its two days National Conference of Trade Leaders which is being held on 5-6 January at Nagpur and to be attended by prominent trade leaders from all States. The campaign will be continued till next budget session of the Parliament.
During the two month long public advocacy campaign, the CAIT intends to rope in about 40 thousand Trade Federations & Associations across the Country.During the campaign the CAIT delegations will meet all MPs of both houses but more focus shall be on MPs belonging particularly to Congress, AIADMK and other political parties those opposing GST and by submitting a memorandum shall impress upon them to support GST in Parliament and also convey their respective high command the feelings and views of trading community. The CAIT is also planning to hold 100 GST Conferences all over the Country for making public opinion. Trade Federations and Associations across the Country will be asked to send letters to Prime Minister urging for early implementation of GST in India and a copy of the same will be sent to Leader of Opposition in both houses. A big rally in support of GST at New Delhi is also be planned during budget session. An online petition in support of GST will also be launched.
The CAIT will also seek cooperation of Industry chambers namely FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM and PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry as also thousands of other Chambers working in different states.
