State level campaign to be launched to tackle drug mafia: CM

DHARMSHALA---Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh while addressing a massive gathering at Dah-Kulara in Indora assembly segment, after performing foundation stone of Rs. 106 crore Industrial Township said that State level Campaign would be started throughout the State to fight drug mafia. The law and enforcement agencies in bordering areas of Himachal needs to maintain strict vigil and is directed to capture culprits involved in any type of drug smuggling in the State, said he, adding that there would a provision of severe penalty for drug smugglers.
Chief Minister said that the anti-national forces believe in catching the 'youth at young' and make them addicted to drugs with a motive of shaking the very base of development and upliftment of the society, but he would not let this happen in Himachal Pradesh, asserted he.
The roads bordering our neighbouring States should be maintained at all cost, he said, and directed the PWD authorities to follow the directions.
Speaking on industrialisation growth in the State the Chief Minister said that as of date, there were 137 big, 367 medium and 40100 small and micro industrial units in the State set up with an investment of Rs 19 thousand crore providing employment to as many as 286500 people. He said that the government was endeavoured to expand industrial sector with a view to open new vistas of employment to the youth of the State.
"Sincere efforts were being made to invite more big industrial houses in the State by relaxing and simplifying the rules. Our endeavour is to provide entrepreneurs facilities of making online payments and registration, information of all departments available on internet and other such facilities" he said. The State government has offered many sops to entrepreneurs as subsidy in electricity tariff and to ensure stable tariff for next five years for the industrial units, entry tax on inputs has also been reduced to one percent from two percent earlier, increased floor area ratio (FAR) etc. He said that 50 percent subsidy was being given on stamp duty, extension of capital investment subsidy from 2013 to 2017 and increase in subsidy amount from 30 to 50 lakhs for Micro, Medium and Small industrial units. To promote industrialisation we have set up Investment Promotion Cell and Industrial Advisory Council in the State, he added.
He said that Himachal was also fast becoming a tourist destination. The State government has announced opening of many rope-ways so as to facilitate the pilgrims and the tourists
Shri Virbhadra Singh said that Himachal Pradesh had made rapid strides in development. Today there were more than 34500 kilometers of roads in the State, every household has been provided electricity, there were more than 15500 schools, 91 degree colleges, 105 Industrial Training Institutes, Engineering
college, numerous health Institutions and three new medical colleges were being opened at Hamirpur, Chamba and Sirmaur districts besides ESIC Medical College at Mandi and AIIMS at Bilaspur.
He exhorted the people to be aware of divisive forces, which divide the people on basis of region and religion and said that Himachal was one and will remain so and he will not let communal forces to divide the State. " I am a peace loving person and if anyone is found trying to disturb the peace of the State and try to divide the people on caste, colour, region and religion, I wont spare such anti-social elements", he said.
The Chief Minister announced construction of Vegetable/ marketing Yard at Damtal to facilitate the farmers of the area.
He said that the demand for opening PWD and Electric sub division would be considered sympathetically.
The Chief Minister directed the PWD to repair and renovate all the link roads of Indora Constituency and give compliance thereof.
He also announced Veterinary Hospital for the area.
Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri while speaking on the occasion said that the Chief Minister has fulfilled his promise by laying foundation stone of industrial corridors at Pandoga in Una district and the one at Kandrori in Kangra for which a sum of Rs. 106 crore had been received, though sum of Rs 139 crore would be needed for its completion. He said that one more Industrial Township was coming up in Solan district.
He said that Virbhadra Singh believed in overall development and had initiated two major projects in the area viz: channelisation of Chaunch Khud and now this Industrial corridor.
Local MLA, Shri Manohar Dhiman, welcomed and honoured the Chief Minister and other dignitaries on the occasion. He demanded PWD division for Indora. He also urged for Electricity Division for Indora and Vegetable Market at Damtal to facilitate the farmers.
Block Congress President Indora, Shri Om Prakash Katoch also welcomed the Chief Minister on the occasion and placed forth demands of the area.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Shri Jagjeevan Pal, MLAs Shri Sanjay Rattan, Shri Ajay Mahajan and Shri Pawan Kajal, former MLA, Shri Bodh Raj, Chairman, OBC and Financial Corporation, Shri Chander Kumar, Chairman, Education Board, Shri Balbir Tegta, Vice-Chairman HP State Forest Corporation, Shri Kewal Singh Pathania, DC, Shri Ritesh Chauhan, SP, Shri Abhishek Dullar, Director, Industries, Shri Rajinder Singh, Director Higher Education, Shri Dinkar Burathoki, were also present on the occasion amongst others.
