Chief Minister lays foundation stone of Cancer Hospital Sarai at Shimla

SHIMLA--- Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh today performed foundation stone laying ceremony of Sarai (Inn) of Cancer Hospital near IGMC Shimla, a joint venture of Rotary Club and Municipal Corporation Shimla to cost Rs. 3 crore.
The Sarai will initially have four floors out of which there will be parking on the two floors and the two would be residential having pantry, lift facility etc. There would also be two dormitories and ten rooms with capacity of 40 beds.
The Chief Minister appreciated the initiatives of Rotary Club Shimla for bearing the cost of the proposed four storey Sarai-cum-parking complex to cost Rs. three crore and participating in 'Vikas main Jan Sahyog' scheme of State Government. The Chief Minister announced to construct two more additional storeys and said that the State Government would also liberally contribute towards the project.
He also directed the District Administration and MC authority to explore possibility of multi storey parking near the construction site of Sarai, as enough land was available there.
Health Minister Shri Kaul Singh Thakur and Urban Development Minister Shri Sudhir Sharma also accompanied the Chief Minister alongwith Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shri Nand Lal, MLA Shri Anirudh Singh, Mayor MC Shimla Shri Sanjay Chauhan, Vice Chairman HPTDC Shri Harish Janartha, Director I&PR Dr. M.P. Sood, Commissioner MC Shri Pankaj Rai, Principal IGMC Shri S.S. Kaushal, President Rotary Club Shimla Shri Kapil Mahashe, Chairman of the project Shri Prikishit Mehdudia, Joint Secretary Rotary Club Shri Neeraj Sood, Director Medical Education and Research Dr. Jayshree Sharma, President NGO Shri S.S. Jogta and other prominent persons were present on the occasion.
