'Chintan Shivir' of Congress from 18 January at Jaipur

JAIPUR---Congress Party is going to discuss and concretise ways to be taken in future in order to face the challenges at its three-day 'Chintan Shivir' (brainstorming camp) starting from January 18 at in this pink City.Congress General Secretary Janardhan Dwivedi has said that the current economic and political situation in the country would be reviewed and various schemes for urban and rural development would be discussed at the Shivir."We are going to hold a 'Chintan Shivir' from January 18 to 20 in Jaipur. We will discuss all the current economical and social challenges and at the end of the session we come out a conclusive report," said Dwivedi."Political challenges, emerging socio-economic challenges, foreign relations, issues relating to women's empowerment and organisational strength will be debated and discussed at the conclave," he added.He also mentioned that Union Defence Minister A. K. Antony, another congress general secretary Digvijay Singh and Congress leader Girija Vyas will be heading different committees set up to look into deterrent subjects.Antony heads the high-level sub-committee of the Chintan Shivir to go into the issue of emerging political challenges and issue of alliance with other parties.The Jaipur meet has come at a time when the government has decided to go with economic reforms and is expected to come out a populist budget to attract people's attention before the general elections in 2014
