Dhumal praised Navodya

MANDI---State Government would extend all help for construction of separate Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalaya at Kullu and said that the land compensation of Rs. 20 lakh would be paid by the State Government.
This was stated by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, while addressing the closing ceremony of the two-day long state-level Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Cultural Meet, organised at Pandoh, in district Mandi today, after he dedicated the hostel and girls mess buildings completed at a cost of Rs. 95 lakhs to the students of the school and PWD Rest House completed at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh to the people of the area.
Chief Minister said that the State Government would also be completing the construction work of Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalaya Kinnaur on priority. He said that State was committed to make Himachal Pradesh an 'Education Hub' in association with the private and other institutions. He lauded the role of Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalaya in achieving the objective and supplementing the endeavours of the State Government.Dhumal said that in inculcation amongst students about the environmental awareness was a great move towards maintaining the ecology of the State. He said that the State had been awarded 'Dimond State Award' by IBN-7 and Outlook Magazine. He thanked the people of the State who had contributed significantly towards- the ecological balance to make H.P. environmentally the safest state. He appeals to the people to stop all anti-environmental activities to uphold the rich environment friendly traditions of the hilly State.Chief Minister said that the state had been endeavouring to start self-employment in a big way so that every person could earn his livelihood respectfully and gracefully. He said that the State Government was committed to make life of every person economically safe and secure. Dhumal said that Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalaya had been instrumental in bringing about quality improvement not only in educational but also extra curricular activities. He hoped that the school would achieve new milestone in coming years while excelling in all sectors.Chief Minister congratulated the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Management for their outstanding achievements in academic and extra curricular activities filled with moral values. He said that the concept of the Vidayala had been to carry alround development of the rural children.Chief minister was presented a draft of worth Rs. 3.22 lakh by Shri Onkar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Mandi on behalf of the District Mandi Red Cross Society and Smt. Sapna Sharma, President, Hospital Welfare Society and District Mandi Employees Association as contribution towards Chief Minister's Relief Fund for which he expressed his gratitude towards the donors. Rs. 5100 were also donated by Pandoh Beopar Mandal. Shakti Kendra, Pandoh, also donated Rs. 1100 towards Chief Minister Relief Fund on the occasion.
Chief Minister also distributed prizes amongst the winning teams of various Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya's for their outstanding performances. Smt. Sushma Goswami, Principal, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya welcomed the Chief Minister and counted the outstanding achievements. He said that the school had cent percent pass record and 90 percent passed with first class, besides excelling in sports and extra curricular activities.Nand Lal, Member, Parent-Teachers Association highlighted various problems of the school.
