273 incidents of political killing, violence and extortions reported within three days after the results of West Bengal assembly elections were declared

Shimla-----As many as 273 incidents of political killing, violence and extortions were reported within three days after the results of West Bengal assembly elections were declared in which about 17 BJP workers lost their lives. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the virtual conference on violence after Vidhan Sabha elections, 'Black Chapter of Democracy in West Bengal'.
Chief Minister said that the BJP succeeded in getting 38.09 percent vote share in these elections and also succeeded in increasing its seats from three to 77. He said that increasing base of BJP in West Bengal has baffled the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamta Banerjee and her goons who started targeting BJP workers in utter frustration and dejection. He said that West Bengal was known for its great personalities such as Shyama Prasad Mukherjee,  Chatenya Maha Prabhu, Ravinder Nath Tagore, Neta Ji Subhash Chander Bose, Bankim Chandra Chatterjee  etc. but the successive communist governments  and now TMC Government has completely ruined the reputation of this land of thinkers, freedom fighters and great personalities.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the TMC goons were intimidating and attacking the BJP leaders and workers. He said that the deteriorating situation in West Bengal could be gauged from the fact that even the cavalcade of BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda was attacked by the TMC supported miscreants.
Chief Minister expressed hope that the day would come when BJP would form government in West Bengal and bring back the lost glory of West Bengal. He said that each and every party worker of BJP should unitedly fight the misrule of TMC and people should be sensitized about the misdeeds of Mamta Banerjee and her government. He appreciated the efforts made by BJP leaders headed by its State President Dilip Gosh in increasing the base of BJP in West Bengal.
State BJP President Suresh Kashyap said that each and every party worker of Himachal Pradesh was rock solid behind the BJP workers of West Bengal. He said that day would come when BJP would form government in West Bengal.
Member of Parliament and BJP President of West Bengal and key speaker of virtual conference Dilip Gosh said that  the State once known as land of thinkers and visionary was today under threat to lose its old glory. He said that since last 35 years as many as 55000 political workers have been murdered in the State. He said that not only this as many as 168 BJP workers have been killed in the State during last 5-6 years. He said that over 8200 incidents of violence, rapes and atrocities on women and extortions etc. have been reported in the State during the ten years of misrule of TMC government in West Bengal.
Dilip Gosh said that over 2100 candidates who have won PRI elections in West Bengal were not even able to come back to their homes fearing the attack by TMC goons. He said that their only fault was that they were BJP supported candidates. He said that each and every BJP worker was united in West Bengal and would give befitting reply to TMC in times to come.
Chief Spokesman of State BJP Randhir Sharma welcomed the participants and conducted the virtual conference.

Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur, former Chief Ministers Shanta Kumar and Prem Kumar Dhumal, Ministers and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
