Governor visits Himachal Pradesh Academy for Defense Services Una

Shimla--------Governor Bandaru Dattatraya  visited Himachal Pradesh Academy for Defense Services at Una and met the trainees.  

While addressing the trainees, the Governor said that any target could be achieved with hard work and determination.  He appreciated the passion of the youth of Himachal Pradesh for serving Indian army. He said that the mighty Indian military give us the feeling of patriotism and one member from every family should serve in the army. The soldiers devote their entire life to the service of the Nation and also give ultimate sacrifice when required.  

While appreciating the efforts of Himachal Pradesh Academy for Defense Services Una, the Governor said that he was happy to learn that the retired military officers were providing training to the aspirants in the academy.

He announced to provide Rs. five lakh to the academy.

State BJP president Satpal Singh Satti said that Himachal Pradesh was also known as 'Veer Bhoomi'. It was a matter of pride that the first Paramveer Chakra was given to Major Somnath Sharma who belo0nged to Himachal Pradesh. Similarly two more Paramveer Chakra were given to brave soldiers of Himachal Pradesh, after Kargil war.

Chairman of the Academy, Brigadier Jagir Singh Kanwar apprised that after the establishment of this academy 6034 candidates have been recruited in the army.
