HPSSSCB to hold All India Civil Services Kabaddi Tournament at Kotshera

SHIMLA-----------A meeting of Himachal Pradesh Secretariat Services Sports Control Board (HPSSSCB) was held here today under the chairmanship of Senior Vice President of the Board, Dr. R.N. Batta to review the preparedness arrangements of All India Civil Services Kabaddi Tournament to be held at Government Degree College, Chaura Maidan, Kotshera from 15 to 19 November, 2019.

Dr. Batta said that this prestigious Civil Servant's tournaments is being hosted for the first time in Himachal Pradesh and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who is also the Patron-in-Chief of the sports board, would be the chief guest in inaugural function of this mega event whereas Education Minister, Suresh Bhardwaj and Youth Services and Sports Minister, Govind Singh Thakur would be Guest of Honour.

He said that about 40 to 45 teams from across the country comprising 600 to 700 participants will take part in this event. About 15-20 matches would be held every day and the final will be held on 19 November. He said that observers from Government of India would come for this event. He also directed to make proper stay arrangements for the participants.

The stakeholder departments were directed in the meeting to ensure smooth flow of traffic, parking arrangements and law and order situation during the event. It was also informed that one Information Centre would be setup by the Tourism Department at the event venue for the participants who wish to visit nearby tourist places.

Vice President of the Board, Paramjeet Singh, General Secretary Rajesh Sharma and representatives of stakeholder departments were also present in the meeting.
