Governor visits Tanda medical college, enquires well being of Forest Minister

Dharmshala--------Governor Bandaru Dattatraya today met Forest Minister Govind Singh Thakur who is under treatment in Dr. Rajendra Prasad medical college and hospital, Tanda in district Kangra and enquired about his well-being.  He wished him a speedy recovery.

On this occasion, while talking to the senior faculty of the medical college, the Governor said that despite shortage of staff and infrastructure, the doctors and non-medical staff were providing better services to the patients, which was commendable. He said that he had experienced that people of the state have more faith in government hospitals, which shows the dedication of doctors in serving the suffering humanity.

He expressed happiness that this institute achieved 31st rank among the 600 institutions of the country and first rank in North India.  He said that the human aspect of the doctor was essential to instill confidence in the patients.  He instructed to run a cleanliness campaign at the hospital level and putting up hoardings carrying messages of maintaining cleanliness in hospital premises.  He also directed to promote yoga activities at the hospital level. 

Earlier, the Governor visited various wards of the hospital and interacted with the patients. 

The doctors apprised the Governor about their problems and demands. 

Principal Dr. Bhanu Awasthi apprised about the infrastructure, ongoing development projects and status of the institute.
