CM launches cleanliness drive on birthday of PM Narendra Modi

SHIMLA------Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launched the cleanliness campaign from Deen Dayal Upadhaya Hospital, Shimla today on the occasion of the 69th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also distributed sweets amongst the indoor patients.

            Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that the nation was blessed to have the benevolence, blessings and strong leadership in form of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was under his leadership that today India had emerged as the strong and vibrant nation in the comity of nations. He said that that this year, the birth week of Narendra Modi was being celebrated as 'Seva Saptaah' attributing as service of the poor, downtrodden and the needy.

            While wishing a very happy and prosperous birthday to Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister said that it becomes duty of every citizen of the country to participate in the cleanliness drive to ensure success of Swachh Bharat campaign as Swachhta removes various kinds of diseases. 

            Chief Minister said that Narendra Modi had been launching various innovative schemes during his Prime Ministership to ameliorate the living conditions of  the poor, needy and vulnerable sections of the society.  He said that people of the country feel that India was now in safest hands. He said that Narendra Modi had provided the much needed strong and farsighted leadership to the Nation by taking bold and historic decisions to benefit the people and earning a special name for India across the globe. He said that Narendra Modi had special love and affection with the people of Himachal Pradesh as he knows the remotest corner and requirements of Himachal Pradesh. He said that liberal financial assistance was being received by the State Government during his Prime Ministership which has accelerated the pace of the development in the State.

            Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated blood donation camp organized by Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha Shimla Mandal on the occasion.

            Jai Ram Thakur also launched the free Langar service on the occasion in the DDU Hospital to be run by the NOVAL Welfare and Charitable Society, Shimla. 

            Senior Medical Superintendent, DDU Hospital, Shimla Dr Lokender Sharma urged for providing more facilities in the hospital to facilitate the patients.

            Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Vice Chairman HIMFED Ganesh Dutt, Mayor Kusum Sadret, Deputy Mayor Rakesh Sharma, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Trilok Jamwal, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jitender Chauhan were also present on the occasion among others.
