Minister urges PRI's to apply for nation level awards

SHIMLA--- Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar today revealed that this year the national level awards to the Panchayati Raj Institutes would be given by the union ministry of Panchayati Raj on 24 April, 2019 on the occasion of National Panchayat Day.
He said that awards would be given to one Zila Parishad, two Panchayat Samitis, three Gram Panchayats and one Gram Sabha of the state. In addition to this, the government of India would also award the best panchayat of the state.
The Minister appealed the Pradhans and Secretaries of all the Gram Panchayat of the state to apply online on panchayatawards.gov.in portal for these awards, for which the date has been extended up to 22 November, 2018.
Virender Kanwar said that this is a good opportunity for the PRI's to highlight their achievements and get rewarded for their efforts.
