Dalai Lama leaves for Japan

Dharamshala--Tibetan Spiritual Leader  Dalai Lama left Dharamshala today for a brief Delhi visit and a ten-day teaching tour to Japan from 10 – 22 November.

Tomorrow in Delhi, Dalai Lama will inaugurate the yearlong celebration of the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev at Bhai Vir Singh Sahitya Sadan.

He will arrive in Japan on 12 November and conduct a series of teachings and talks over the next ten days.

On 14 November, His Holiness will give a teaching on The Heart Sutra (sherab nyingpo)Je Tsongkhapa's Praise to the Buddha for His Teachings on Dependent Origination (tendrel toepa) & Kamalashila's The Middle Stages of Meditation (gomrim barpa). On 15 November, His Holiness will confer the Avalokiteshvara Initiation (chenresig jigten wangchuk wang).

He will also hold a dialogue between Buddhist science and modern science with three scientists at the Pacifico Yokohama (National Convention Hall of Yokohama) on 16 November. The events are being organized at the request of the Liaison Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (NPO Tibet House Japan).

On 17 November, His Holiness will give a public talk to the youth on One – We Are One Family at Hibiya Open Air Concert Hall. The event is being organized by Sherab Kyetsel Ling Institute.

On 18 November, His Holiness will participate in the opening ceremony of Sherab Kyetsel Ling Institute in Chiba, Japan.

His Holiness will return to Dharamshala on 25 November.
