TRADERS NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GST ON 27-28 APRIL AT NEW DELHI

SHIMLA----Having an eye on the likely implementation of Goods & Services Tax (GST) from 1st July,2017 and in the wake of pro-active steps being taken by the Union Government for promoting faster adoption of digital payments in the Country, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) is holding a two days national conference of prominent trade leaders of States on 27th & 28th April,2017 at New Delhi to discus threadbare both GST & digital payments and to formulate a sixty days strategy of a national campaign to educate and empower the trading community & other verticals of non-corporate sector with basic fundamentals of both the issues while ensuring speedy adoption.

 

CAIT National President Mr. B.C.Bhartia & Secretary General Mr. Praveen Khandelwal informed that more than 150 trade leaders from all over the Country shall be participating in two days conference. " Our effort is to train them as Master Trainers on both GST & Digital Payments and in turn they will train trading community at district level in their respective States-said Mr. Bhartia & Mr. Khandelwal.

 

The trade leaders further said that GST is a technology based taxation system much different from current taxation regime and about 70% small businesses in the Country still have to adopt computerisation in their existing business format. It is a challenge to  equip them with technology before rolling out of GST. The CAIT has taken this initiative and as such in next 60 days beginning May, 1, 2017, there will be a massive national drive across the Country under which Trade Associations of different States will be geared up to organise Seminars, Workshops, Conferences and Meetings on GST & Digital Payments on mass scale. For GST, the CAIT has chosen Tally Solutions Limited as its technology partner whereas for Digital payments, it has tied up with MasterCard & HDFC Bank to take the initiative down the line. So far, the CAIT has already organised 113 Conferences on GST & Digital Payments in past 100 days.

 

Both Mr. Bhartia & Mr. Khandelwal said during two days Conference, the trade leaders will deliberate on GST & Digital Payments in various sessions which have been outlined on various fundamental issues including overview of proposed GST structure and its implications on Trade & Commerce,  Role of technology in GST Taxation system, need to have dedicated computerised business solution for GST compliance, treatment of Inter-state movement of Goods & Services, Rules pertaining to Place of Supply, Raising of Invoices, Availing of Input Tax credit, role of Trade Leaders and Trade Associations in ensuring penetration of GST education among traders across the Country. 

 

Considering Digital Payments yet another core issue, the Conference will deliberate on linkage between Digital Payments and GST, Why Digital Payment is essential for future business in India, ways & means for faster adoption of digital payments, percolation of Digital Payments down the line among non-corporate sector, advantages and road blocks of digital payments adoption etc.
