SHIMLA--Himachal Pardesh Congress has come out strongly in support of Sonia Gandhi and her family in the face of strong opposition from few party members following the recent Lok Sabha defeat.Describing Sonia family's detractors as power hungry hounds Himachal Congress party spokesman Vijyender Sharma demanded here today that the "party must not tolerate such people even for a second and throw them out immediately".The generations of Nehru-Gandhi family had made great sacrifices for the Congress and the nation. Congress without Sonia Gandhi, Rahul and Priyanka can not even be imagined, Mr Sharma asserted. He also told mediapersons that this was not the first time that Congress had suffered adverse poll results, but it had always bounced back even stronger. He exhorted the partymen in Himachal Pardesh and across the nation not to lose heart and work towards regaining the confidence of people. He reiterated that Congress party in Uttarakhand was standing with Sonia and her family like a rock and every party member was working dedicatedly to win the coming Assembly bypoll and leave a mark on panchayat polls.
