SHIMLA------Governor Smt. Urmila Singh and Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh have felicitated the people of the State on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.
Smt. Urmila Singh in her felicitation message said that teachings and principles of Lord Buddha were more relevant today in the present tension ridden world to live a peaceful life. She said that it was a special day to remember Buddha. We all should follow the Noble Truths and Eight Fold Path as shown by him.
Shri Virbhadra Singh, Chief Minister in his felicitation message, said that Buddha Purnima was the most sacred festival of Buddhists. The teachings of Lord Buddha were solely to liberate human beings from the misery and sufferings and help one to live a peaceful life. He said that Buddha Purnima speaks of Buddhas enlightenment and his immeasurable life span wherein he devoted himself to lessen the sufferings of the people.
