SHIMLA---As per letter of Election Commission of India dated 27th August, 2012, the composition/duties of Media Certification and Monitoring Committees as District level for scrutiny of paid news cases will consist of District Election Officer, ARO (Not below SDM), Central Government I&B Ministry official (if any in the district), Independent Citizen/Journalist as may be recommended by PCI/DEO’s nominee (if PCI nomination is not available), DPRO/District Information Officer/equivalent-Member Secretary, stated Chief Electoral Officer Shri Narinder Chauhan here today.
