Dharmshala---Dharmshala based lawyer Vinay Sharma filed a complaint against the Himahal Pradesh Cricket Association, accusing the sports body of “misusing” the premises of its stadium here for political activities. In his complaint to the chief electoral officer, Sharma alleged that the HPCA stadium was a public place as it was built on government land and could not be used for political activities. “The HPCA spokesman, who is also a Bharatiya Janata Party leader, has been holding press conferences there in favour of the cricket body’s chief Anurag Thakur, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Hamirpur,” alleged Sharma, adding that the meetings were being held without the Election Commission’s permission, in violation of the poll code.He alleged that during one such press conference, HPCA spokesman Sanjay Sharma raised a finger on the actions and conduct of governor Urmila Singh over the permission granted by her to prosecute former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.Sharma said the Governor was discharging her constitutional duties and had only given permission to the state government to prosecute the BJP veteran and some government officials in a corruption case being investigated on the directiona of a special court here.“The HPCA spokesman is working as an agent of the BJP and trying to give advantage to his boss Thakur by misusing the HPCA stadium,” alleged Sharma. He has demanded that the Election Commission “act tough on the HPCA, as done in the case of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and BJP’s Amit Shah”.
