SHIMLA-------Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh while addressing election meetings at Rampur and Nirmand in Shimla district in favour of congress candidate Pratibha Singh said that Prem Kumar Dhumal should think before speaking and leveling allegation against the congress leaders. “I know that Prem Kumar Dhumal was worried and  in heavy pressure anticipating the loss of his son Anurag Thakur from Hamirpur parliamentary constituency”, said the chief Minister.

Lashing out at Prem Kumar Dhumal, Sh Singh said that Dhumal appears to be in predicament and due to this was now raking up another issue of re-naming the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in the name of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. “Warning Dhumal, Chief Minister said that even thinking of any such move by Dhumal would not be tolerated and he will have pay for this if he dares to do so” said he adding that  he should stop day dreaming.

Chief Minister, said that he had no objection if the BJP does any such thing or indulges in re-naming whatever it likes if in power, but if the BJP tries to change names of the institutions opened during the congress regime it would be given a befitting reply. “ I am not personally against former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpyee, as is a distinguished politician and respected by all but if BJP tries to re-name the prestigious institutions opened by the Congress Government which includes, IGMC, Shimla, RPGMC Tanda, ESIC Medical college Ner Chowk and many more, the BJP will be deep in hot waters” said the chief minister. In addition to this Medical colleges at Nahan, Chamba and Hamirpur were also provided by UPA government at the centre.

Virbhadra Singh said that the congress governments had never differentiated with any area of the state as regards development was concerned, adding that congress led governments had equally given priority to development in Hamirpur district, but when BJP comes to power it indulges in step-motherly treatment as far as development is concerned. He said that for him all the areas of Himachal Pradesh were his home and he prefers equal development of all areas alike. Virbhadra Singh that Congress candidate Rajinder Rana was a popular face amongst the masses in Hamirpur parliamentary and his popularity graph was much higher than Dhumals Son Anurag Thakur, who was going to face a massive defeat this time.

Virbhadra Singh said that Dhumals were reciting ‘Namo ,Namo’ as Modi was not an individual but God for them  and there was no other leader in BJP other than him. He said that the Chief Minister of Gujarat was being projected in such a way as if only one person is there in BJP who was eligible to become the prime minister of the country. “If becoming chief minister of any state for the third time was a sole criteria for becoming the prime minister, then I have become chief minister of Himachal Pradesh for the record sixth time and has never wished or claimed to hold the post of prime minister,” remarked the chief minister. He said that only such a person should become Prime Minister of the Country who holds all religions in equilibrium.

Virbhadra Singh said that congress holds sway in all the four lok sabha constituencies of the state and appealed to the people to vote to strengthen the UPA at the centre.
