BAIJNATH-------“Will veteran leader Shanta Kumar tell to the people that what extraordinary contribution he has made for development of Kangra District” said Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh while addressing election rally at Baijnath in Kangra district today. He said that he does not have any personal differences with Shanta Kumar but it but “I want to say that Shanta was not invincible , as he has been defeated twice in Parliamentary elections and twice he had lost elections of State legislative assembly” said the chief minister, adding that he wont be enough happy on the defeat of shanta kumar, but one has to loose in battle of two and this time it will be shanta kumar as he has fallen prey to the conspiracy of state BJP leaders who don’t want him to win the elections.
He said that whenever the congress governments ruled the state, it ensured equal and balanced development . The tanda medical college was opened by the congress government so that people of kangra and neighbouring districts could get better health facilities at their door-steps. As many as 500 schools were either opened and upgraded in the state and 14 degree colleges opened. He said that the government was endeavoured to provide quality education to every girl child, adding that educated women play an important role in shaping and building an edifice for cultured society as a whole.
He said that since the formation of the state there was no contribution of BJP in development. The BJP always was bent upon to divide the people on the basis of caste, region and religion whereas the congress governments treat all the citizens of the Nation equally.Virbhadra singh appealed to the people to vote in favour of congress candidate Chander kumar so that the development works could be accelerated .
