Last date for making AADHAR based ration cards extended

SHIMLA----------A Spokesman of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs said here today that last date for making AADHAR based ration cards under National Food Security Act, 2013 had been extended upto 31^st January, 2014. He appealed to the consumers, who had not deposited their forms for making AADHAR based computerized ration cards, to deposit the forms with the concerned Panchayat Secretary in rural areas and Food Inspector of Food and Civil Supplies or at their nearest fair price depots.

Commercial Vehicle Owners urged to call off strike

Transport and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Shri G.S. Bali here today requested all commercial vehicle owners to withdraw their strike and 'Chakka Jam' in public interest and not to pay any attention on rumours.

Shri Bali said that all Himachal Commercial Vehicle Joint Action Committee, Shimla had gone on strike and 'Chakka Jam' pertaining to hike in tax which was improper and not in the interest of people besides causing inconvenience to them. He said that State Government had  amended schedule-I  as per Notification number TPT-A(2)2/2003-part-IV on 18^th December, 2013. The State Government had only fixed the higher limit of tax in the amendment adding that State Government had not made any hike in the tax of any kind and tax on old rates were applicable.

Transport Minister said that the Committee did not make any liaison with the Transport Department before going on strike and 'Chakka Jam'. He said that the Department was ready for any kind of discussion on their any matter so that issue could be resolved by mutual discussions.

A Spokesman of the State Government said here today that Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh would preside over the meeting of Himachal Pradesh Other Backward Classes Welfare Board on 23^rd January, 2014 at 11 AM and meeting of Gaddi Welfare Board at 2 PM on the same day at Paryas Bhawan, Government Degree College, Dharamshala in district Kangra.
