Chief Minister laid foundation-stone of 132 KV Sub-Station at Tahliwal

UNA--Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister laid foundation-stone of 132 KV Sub-Station at Tahliwal industrial area of district Una today, estimated to cost Rs. 32.80 crore to feed industrial and adjoining areas with reliable power supply and solve low voltage problem of the area.

Addressing a public meeting on the occasion, Chief Minister said that the new 132 KV Sub-Station would be constructed and dedicated to the consumers in 15 months to save time and money through early execution.

Dhumal said that Rs. 48.83 crore project had been forwarded for funding to channelise Bathu-Bathru on inter-state borders to Government of India and the total cost of Swan River channelization would touch Rs. 390 crore and save valuable crops of the local farmers. He said that it was during BJP regime that such an ambitious projects were approved. He said that Rs. 2.83 crore had also been approved for construction of local road. He said that it was also during BJP regime that first train had connected Una in 1991, Jan Shatabadi started in 2009 and now link express connecting Una with Hardiwar had also been started to add new milestone in the district.

Dhumal said that State Government had endeavoured to carry out planned and sector-wise development of the industrial areas with a view to consolidate the similar industrial activities. He said that it was unfortunate that the Special Industrial Package was withdrawn while the State had been sanctioned package for 10 years to complete on March 2013 while the State had demanded package on the analogy of North Eastern States which were reaping additional benefits.

Chief Minister informed that a Rs. 15 crore irrigation scheme had been sanctioned for Beat area which would be executed on priority. He hoped that the scheme would meet irrigation requirements of local farming community. He assured local people that all their developmental demands would be fulfilled in a phased manner.

Dhumal expressed his gratitude to the former Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee for sanctioning Special Industrial Package to the State to give boost to industrial activities in the State which was withdrawn by the GOI pre-matured and was unprecedented in the history of the State.

Chief Minister was also presented a draft of Rs. 21,000 by J.S. Sodhi as contribution towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund on the occasion.

Chief Minister also listened to public grievances after the public meeting and directed concerned authorities to deliver aggrieved parties necessary relief on priority. Satpal Singh Satti, Chief Parliamentary Secretary welcomed Chief Minister to district Una on his two-day visit and thanked him for implementing Swan River Channelization in two phases which had saved valuable farm land of the farmers. He also thanked for approving Rs. 48 crore for channelization of Bathu-Bathri Swan River channelization project. He thanked Chief Minister for sanctioning Rs. 110 crore for strengthening power supply system in the district. He said that rapid industrialization was taking place in the State.

Dr. M.P. Singh, C.E.O. HPSEB Ltd. also welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries to foundation stone laying ceremony. He said that the proposed 132 KV Sub-Station would consist of spending Rs. 18.22 crore on Sub-Division and Rs. 14.56 crore to be spent on laying of 16 kms transmission line. He said that Rs. 130 crore was spent on construction of electricity Sub-Station in the different parts of the State. He assured people that reliable power would be ensured to industrial and domestic consumers.

Shri Des Raj Rana, former President, BJP Mandal, Haroli thanked the Chief Minister for his visit to lay foundation-stone of 132 KVA to solve voltage problem in industrial and adjoining areas. He urged for early execution of Beat area irrigation and Swan River Channelization projects.
