Hamirpur--Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, in fulfillment of the announcement made by the State Government to give cash prizes to the sportspersons winning medals in international and national level sports events, today at Hamirpur in a State level Statehood Day presented a draft of Rs. 41 lakh to Subedar Vijay Kumar, for winning three Gold Medals and One Silver Medal in Shooting events during the Commonwealth Games and two Bronze Medals in Shooting events during Asian Games held at Gwangzhan-2010, Rs. 8 lakh to Shri Samresh Jung for winning One Silver Medal and One Bronze Medal in Shooting events during Common Wealth Games, Rs. 5 lakh to Ms. Sonia Rai for winning One Silver Medal in Shooting events in Asian Games held at Gwangzhan-2010, Rs. 3 lakh to Ms. Meena Kumari for winning One Bronze Medal in Shooting event during Common Wealth Games.
Chief Minister also gave cash prizes of Rs. 40,000 to Ms. Sanjo Devi for winning two Gold Medals in Athletics during National Women Festival, Rs. 20,000 to Shri Neeraj Sharma for winning ONE Gold, One Silver and One Bronze Medals in Sailing in various events, organized in Shanwei, China, ISAF Nations Cup at Mumbai and Qatar International March Racing Cup held at Doha Qatar; Ms. Rita Kumari, Ms. Bandana, Ms. Manisha and Ms. Mamta were also given cash prizes.
