State Government would ensure higher and better education facility to the rural youth

HARIPUR----State Government would ensure higher and better education facility to the rural youth at their door steps and construction of Haripur Guler College building was a step towards achieving the same.
This was stated by Himachal Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, while addressing a mammoth public meeting at Haripur Guler in Dehra Sub-Division of district Kangra after he laid the foundation stone of Government Degree College building at Haripur today, estimated to cost Rs. 6.15 crore. He said that the State Government was rationalizing the educational institutions all over the State and also announced Rs. 42.50 lakh for construction of PHC building at Haripur Guler. Dhumal said that it was only during BJP regime that all codal formalities were completed to take over the privately run Haripur Guler college under the fold of State Government. He said that 90 kanal of land had been transferred in the name of the Education Department for its development. He said that it was matter of pride that girls were outnumbering the boy students and Government was committed to provide best higher education facilities to girls near to their homes. He said that the State Government was providing free education to girl students besides many scholarships under different schemes. He said that it was one of the para meter which had made HP a model state in primary education at the national level. He said that during previous BJP regime every primary school was provided three roomed accommodation by spending Rs. 126 crore over the same. Chief Minister said that the state government was live to the problems of the farmers and there was no ban on hunting monkeys for protection of crops. He said that the State Government had raised the issue of crop protection under the provisions of MNREGA and allow appointment of crop guards ‘Rakha’ in the rural areas but there had not been any response from the Centre. He said that the State had also raised the demand to increase daily wage under MNREGA from Rs. 100 to Rs. 110 and that too had yet to be acceded to. He said that state had opened four monkey sterilization hospitals at Gopalpur in Kangra, Tutikandi in Shimla, Una and Nadaun in Hamirpur. He said that about 20000 monkeys had so far been sterilized so far. Dhumal said that the State had enacted appropriate legal provisions to take action against the children who were not fulfilling their duties of caring for their aged parents. He said that about 3 lakh people were being disbursed social security pension in the state out of which 67,673 were sanctioned during past 34 months. He said that Dr. RPGMC, Tanda would be emerging a super speciality hospital in the State under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Yojna by spending Rs. 150 crore over its development.Chief Minister announced Rs.six lakh for four rooms of GSSS Haripur and assured funds for construction of boundary and retaining walls. He said that science block would also be constructed on priority basis. Dhumal also disbursed relief of Rs. 50,000 to Shri Sarvan Kumar of village Bassi, Rs. 1.00 lakh to Smt. Punya Devi of village Katora, Rs. 15,000 Shri Jitender Singh of village Chandua, Rs. 1.00 lakh to Smt. Vimla Devi of village Bassi and Rs. 25,000 to Smt. Promila Devi of village Tehra, in lieu of the death of their family members killed in accidents. Chief Minister was presented a draft of Rs. 11,000 by Panchayat Takniki Sahayak Association, and Rs. 2100 by teachers and staff of GSSS Khairiyan as contribution towards the CM Relief Fund. Ramesh Dhwala, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister, said that the State was making rapid stride at national level on various sectors which was rare achievement for a such a small hill state like Himachal Pradesh. He said that various self employment generating schemes launched by the State Government were benefiting the youth in the remote areas like Tissa in Chamba who were marketing their flowers etc. to Delhi and Amritsar. He said that Rs. 120 crore were spent on subsidy on essential commodities during preceding year. He said that a subsidy of Rs. 850 to Antyodaya, Rs. 750 to BPL and Rs. 525 to APL families was being disbursed. Nikhil Rajour, local MLA, also welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for laying foundation stone of the college building at Haripur. Kripal Parmar, former MP and Vice President, State BJP, congratulated CM for winning State Best State Award which was a rare gift to the people of the State. He thanked CM for laying foundation of the local degree college which was long awaited and cherished desire of local people. He apprised CM of various local demands. Vikram Thakur, former local MLA and Vice Chairman, HP State Forest Corporation, thanked CM for his liberal attitude towards the developmental requirements of Jaswan area. He counted various developmental milestones established under his leadership.Naresh Chauhan, President, Dehra BJP Mandal, welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for setting up Central University in Dehra.Karam Pathania, Principal, Government Degree College, Haripur, also welcomed the CM and apprised of the historical background of the college.
