Rs. 500 crore aluminium project would soon be set up in the industrial area of district Kangra

Rs. 500 crore aluminium project would soon be set up in the industrial area of district Kangra in private sector in the near future to give boost to industrial activities in the area and generate employment avenues to the educated and skilled youth of the area. This was stated by Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, while addressing an impressive public meeting at Ganju-e-da-Galu, near Jwalamukhi, today, after he dedicated newly constructed Subzi Mandi constructed at a cost of Rs. 88.22 lakhs to the farmers of the area and laying foundation of shopping complex at Jwalamukhi, estimated to cost Rs..1.40 crore, to be constructed by the Nagar Panchayat, Jwalamukhi.

said that strengthening of the rural economy was very important for the overall development of the state and country. He said that best effort were being made to strengthen the primary sector of agriculture and animal husbandry which had the highest potential to generate self employment and employment avenues. He said that the State Government was committedly following the foot steps of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayay who always thought of the socio-economic upliftment of the rural areas. He said that Rs. 353 crore ambitious farm modernization scheme had been launched in the State from January this year with a view to facilitate the farmers with 80 percent of subsidy over he project costs. He said that farm soil testing 'Soil Health Card' project was in progress and the target of issuiance of about one lakh such cards was nearing achievemnt. He said that quality basic infrastructural building activities were prioritised by the NDA Government at the Centre during its regime in the country which laid the solid foundation of the modern India. He said that cost escalation of every essential commodities was a matter of grave concern where the Government of INdia needed to pay heed. He said that nothing concrete had been visible on the ground in this front.

Chief Minister ruled out all the criticism being carried by the political opponents with regard to discrimination with Kangra district. He said that it was during his present regime that the Central University, NIFT, Disaster Management Battalion, Food Craft Institute, Consumer Tribunal, SAIL Plant and many such prestigeous institutions had been got sanctioned for the district. He said that Rs. 150 crore had been got sanctioned for upgradation of Dr. R.P.Government Medical College, Kangra at Tanda to bring the same at par with AIIMS level. He said that many such projects had been sanctioned in public and private sector during past one year which confirms the concern State Government had towards the speedy development of the region.

Prof. Dhumal said that speedy development of the State was on the top agenda of the State Government and concerted efforts were being made by the State Government to achieve he objective. He said that spectacular achievements of the State Government during past one year reveals the sincere efforts being made on all fronts by the State Government. He assured the people that the State was poised to witness more speedy developmental activities uniformally in coming years to make Himachal Pradesh a model state in real sense.

CM was presented a draft of Rs. 1.00 lakh by the Pujaris of Jwalamukhi Temple and Rs. 5,000 out of the pocket money by Ms. Anamika Sharma, as contribution towards the Chief Minister's RElief Fund on the occasion and he thanked them for their generosity since all such funds collected were being utilized for the benefit of poor and needy sections of the society.

Ravinder Ravi, IPH Minister, said that popular decisions taken by the state government. He said that 80 percent of the promises made in the Election Manifesto had been fulfilled during past one year. He said that Kangra district had been benefitted with a number of national level institutions. He said that NIFT, Food Craft Institute and Central University were one of such institutions. He said that meeting with the Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry with regard to special package to tea growers of the district were bound to benefit the industry with its revival prospectus. He said that the State Government had initiated effective steps to check corruption and provide people corruption free, responsive and transparent administration. He said that Rs. 1.350 crore were being spent under various IPH activities during current financial year. He detailed the sanctioned irrigation and drinking water supply scheme for Jwalamukhi segment.

Dhwala, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister and local MLA, welcomed the Chief Minister to his home segment and thanked him for dedicating the Subzi Mandi to the farmers of the ar ea and said that developmental pace in the area had been accelerated with the BJP Government coming to power in the State since past one year. He said that vocational education was being given added priority which would ensure youth employment. He said that Rs. 141 crore were being spent over subsidised essential commodities. He also apprised the Chief Minister of various local demands.

Shri Naveen Dhiman, former MLA, Smt.Manisha sShrama, President, Nagar Panchayat, Jwalamukhi, other senior party leaders and prominent people and officers were present on the occasion.
