One Year of Opposition's Disruption in Parliament is a Shame on Democracy : Kangana Ranaut
Prime Minister Modi Does Not Hack EVMs, He Wins the Hearts of the People : Kangana Ranaut
'One Nation–One Election' Will Strengthen Democracy and Save Over ₹10,000 Crore
Shimla:
BJP Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut, while addressing the Lok Sabha on electoral reforms, delivered a strong and fearless speech exposing the disruptive conduct, double standards and declining political ethics of the Opposition. She stated that as a first-time MP, her experience of the past one year—especially due to the behaviour of the Opposition—has been deeply disturbing and mentally exhausting.
She said that almost every day the Opposition resorted to shouting slogans, rushing into the Well of the House, intimidation and physical pushing, making it nearly impossible for Parliament to function. "We come here as representatives of the people to raise their issues and to learn. But the Opposition turned Parliament into a daily spectacle and completely violated its dignity," she said.
Rahul Gandhi's Speech Lacked Substance, Direction and Facts
Taking a sharp dig at the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Kangana Ranaut said that the whole nation expected some serious revelations from him, but his speech had neither facts nor clarity. "Khadi, thread and people—this was the sum total of his so-called framework. When asked to speak on the point, he kept claiming he was 'framing his argument', but ultimately failed to present any concrete issue."
She strongly objected to the display of the photograph of a woman of foreign origin in Parliament without evidence. That woman herself has repeatedly stated on social media that she has no connection with India or the Haryana elections. Displaying her image violated her personal and dignity rights.
"As a woman MP, I publicly apologise on behalf of the House for this serious violation. This is a direct attack on women's dignity," she said.
Congress' Lectures on Women's Respect are Pure Hypocrisy
Kangana Ranaut said that while Congress talks about women's dignity, it repeatedly indulges in acts that insult women. On the contrary, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, real empowerment of women has taken place through schemes like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Ujjwala Yojana, toilets for women, scholarships and women-centric welfare initiatives.
She said, "Prime Minister Modi does not hack EVMs. He hacks the hearts of the people. This is why Congress keeps making excuses by blaming EVMs for its repeated electoral defeats."
Congress Has a History of Electoral Fraud – Indira Gandhi–Raj Narain Case is Proof
Recalling history, Kangana Ranaut reminded the House about the infamous Indira Gandhi vs. Raj Narain case, which exposed large-scale electoral malpractice during the era of ballot papers that Congress now glorifies.
She said that the then Prime Minister was found guilty of electoral fraud, leading to her disqualification. "Today the same Congress questions EVMs while ignoring its own dark past of ballot-paper manipulation," she added.
Bihar SIR Removed 60 Lakh Fake Voters, Strengthened Democracy
Kangana Ranaut highlighted the success of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar, under which over 60 lakh fake, deceased and migrated voters were removed from electoral rolls, while 21 lakh genuine new voters were added. As a result, voter turnout crossed 67%, the highest ever.
She said this proves that clean electoral processes strengthen public trust in democracy.
'One Nation–One Election' is the Need of the Hour
Proposing the concept of 'One Nation–One Election', Kangana Ranaut said that repeated elections cause not only financial losses exceeding ₹10,000 crore, but also drain administrative machinery, security forces, government resources and exhaust citizens repeatedly.
She said that elections should be celebrated like a democratic festival, just like Diwali or Holi, instead of disrupting governance every few months. Simultaneous elections will ensure administrative efficiency, economic savings and greater citizen convenience.
BJP Firmly Committed to Electoral Reforms and National Interest
Kangana Ranaut concluded by stating that the BJP does not practice politics merely for power, but for strengthening the democratic future of the nation. While the Opposition spreads chaos and confusion, the BJP stands firmly for constitutional values, parliamentary decorum and the mandate of the people—inside the House and outside.
