HP emerges as a frontrunner State of country in matter of development due to double engine governments at Centre and State: Jagat Prakash Nadda

Nagrota Bagwan-----The State Government headed by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has ensured that Himachal Pradesh emerges as a frontrunner State of the country in matter of development with its hard work, dedication and commitment to ensure welfare of the State and all this was possible due to the double engine governments at the Centre and State. This was stated by the MP and National BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda while addressing the largely attended 'Abhinandan Rally' organized in his honour at Nagrota Bagwan in Kangra district today after landslide victory of BJP in four states of the country in the recently concluded Vidhan Sabha elections of these states.

Jagat Prakash Nadda said that 9.37 lakh farmers of the State were being provided Rs. 6000 per year under the Pradhan Mantri Kisaan Samman Nidhi Yojna. He said that over 8.37 lakh water connections were provided in the State under JJM during the last two years whereas during the last forty years only 8 lakh water connections were provided in the State. He said that over 5.40 lakh people were registered under the HIMCARE and over 18,000 patients have been registered under Sahara Yojna.  

While thanking the people of Kangra district for according him rousing welcome, Jagat Prakash Nadda said that Kangra district was not only 'Veer Bhoomi', but also a Dev Bhoomi, with several 'Shakti Peeths' in the district. He also paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters and gallant soldiers of the district who laid down their lives for the motherland. He also appreciated the efforts of the artisans who had made Kangra painting world famous.

Jagat Prakash Nadda said that due to the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in the State, the BJP leaders always speaks about the development at the Centre and the State. He said that the BJP Government was committed to come up to the expectations and aspirations of the people as the BJP Government was a proactive Government. He said that the present Central Government was committed to make India a 'Vishav Guru'. He said that vaccinations of measles, Japani Fever, Polio etc. took years after its invention to reach India, but with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, corona vaccine was prepared within nine months of the first case of Covid-19. He said that apart from providing over 185 crore free vaccines to the people of the country, vaccines were exported to several other countries of the world. He also appreciated the efforts of the State Government in becoming the first State in the country in administering first and second doses of corona vaccine.

BJP National President said that the Central Government provided free ration to over 80 crore people of the country. He said that not only this the Centre Government also succeeded in bring back over 24000 students of the country stranded in Ukraine, out of which about 430 students were from Himachal Pradesh. He said that even students of Pakistan succeeded in getting out of Ukraine by hoisting Indian Flag on their vehicles. This was the picture of changing India and was possible only due to the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added.   

Jagat Prakash Nadda said that it was the Prime Minister who ensured that the weaker sections of the society and those deprived of welfare benefits get their dues that ensured BJP victory in four States. He said that it was after 37 years that any government succeeded in repeating its Government in Uttar Pradesh. He said that the Congress candidates lost their security in 389 seats and AAP candidates forfeited their security in all the 377 seats to which they fought. He said that it was for the first time that any Government succeeded in repeating its Government in Uttrakhand. He said that it was for the first time that the BJP Government won on its own in Manipur. 

BJP National President said that the Congress Governments always ignored interests of the State whereas on the other hand, the status of special category State was restored by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  He said that the 90:10 ratio for Central-State share for projects was also restored during the tenure of the BJP Government. He said that the special industrial package for the State of Himachal Pradesh was also provided by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government.

He said that Kol Dam Project was also started during the tenure of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and dedicated to the State by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that work on the Luhri Project could also be started only after the BJP came to power at Centre. He said that Atal Tunnel was also a gift of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of the State. He said that with the construction of this tunnel, the dream of Atal Bihari Vajpayee was fulfilled. He said that projects such as IIM and AIIMS were sanctioned to the State during the tenure of the BJP. He said that Medical Colleges at Chamba, Sirmour, Hamirpur, Mandi were sanctioned to the State which were also possible due to the BJP Government at the Centre.  He said that Satellite Centre of PGI was coming up in Una and several Trauma Centres were coming up in the State. All these projects were possible due to the double engine Governments at the Centre and the State, he added.

He said that Rs. 194 crore was being spent under Dharamshala Smart City Project. He said that the BJP was a party with a difference and was always concerned about the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden. He also urged the party workers to go to the people with the developmental works and achievements of the Centre and State Governments.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the State was fortunate that the son of the soil was heading the largest political party of the world. He said that almost every party worker has a sweet memory of working with the BJP National President. He said that a common man from a humble background can lead the biggest political party of the world could only happen in the BJP, as all the other parties are confined to a particular family or region.

Jai Ram Thakur said that it was fortunate for the people of the State that Prime Minister Narendra Modi considers Himachal Pradesh as his second home and was always considerate towards the developmental needs of the State. He said that during the corona pandemic the National leadership ensured that no one in the country was deprived of food, masks, sanitizers and other essentialities. He said that the party workers of the State also did commendable work during the pandemic by providing over 50 lakh masks to the needy. He said that the history would remember that during the pandemic who successfully sailed out the country from the testing times of the pandemic.

Chief Minister said that it was due to the endeavours of the Prime Minister that the nation succeeded in developing indigenous vaccine and launching the biggest vaccination campaign of the world. He said that the State Government also ensured that effective steps were taken to curb the spread of this virus. The State has also emerged first in the country of cent per cent vaccination of the eligible age group in the State.

Jai Ram Thakur said that this was due to the development-oriented policies and programmes initiated by the Centre and the State Governments, that the BJP succeeded to again form Governments in four states of the country  out of five where elections were held recently. The Congress leaders after this victory has gone into hibernation after their crushing defeat in these four states, he added.

Chief Minister said that the present tenure of the State Government has been full of achievements and accomplishments. He said that Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna, Sahara Yojna, HIMCARE, Shagun Yojna etc., have been proving boon to the vulnerable sections of the society. He said that the State Government was spending over Rs.1300 crore for providing social security pensions as compared to Rs. 400 crore spent by the Congress Government during their tenure.  He said that the State Government has also decided to provide 125 units of power free of cost to the electricity consumers of the State and 50 per cent concession on bus fare in HRTC buses to women of the State. The State Government has also decided to provide free water to domestic water consumers of the rural areas of the State, he added.

Jai Ram Thakur said that Rs. 207 crore Dharamshala Ropeway was dedicated to the people which was immensely facilitating the local people as well as tourists and Rs. 100 crore Convention Centre would also be constructed in Dharamshala. He said that Rs. 10.50 crore was being spent on renovation and maintenance of Chamunda temple.    

Member of Parliament and State BJP President Suresh Kashyap, while welcoming the BJP National President, said that the double engine Governments at the Centre and the State has given big boost to the development. He said that Himachal Pradesh has witnessed unprecedented development during the last four years and four months. He said that the State BJP would surely succeed in ensuring the mission repeat in the 2022 elections.
