CM participates in 550th Prakash Purb celebration at Gurudwara Sahib Kila Baba Bedi Sahib in Una

UNA---------Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today joined the celebration of the 550th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Gurudwara Sahib Kila Baba Bedi Sahib in Una today.

             While addressing the congregation on the occasion, Chief Minister said that Guru Nanak Dev ji says that everything happens by God's Grace, so rest assured that God knows better what is right or wrong for us.  He said that in Sikhism, the god is omnipresent, shapeless, timeless, and sightless. (Nirankar, akar, alakh). Sikhism stresses that, before creation there was God, and because of His will (Hukam), the Illusion (maya of attachment and enticement) came into being, he added. 

               Jai Ram Thakur said that according to the Guru's doctrine, the victory of truth was not dependent on ending or suppressing falsehood but in standing firmly by truth. That is why Guru Nanak Dev ji exhorts that to stick to truth and to remain on the side of truth when it was necessary, he added.

                Chief Minister said that he was fortunate to have been part of the celebrations on the occasion of 550th Prakash Parv at Shimla as well as Sultanpur Lodhi in Punjab. He said that the teaching of Guru Nanak Dev Ji were even more relevant today. He said that Guru Ji taught us to work for the upliftment and betterment of the society. He said that Guru Nanak Dev also spoke of respecting their own religion, but at the same time respecting the religion of others as well. 

                  Jai Ram Thakur said that efforts would also be made to restore the Gurudwara Sahib. He directed the district administration to improve the road and path leading to this historic Gurudwara Sahib. He also announced Rs15 lakh for improvement this road.

                Earlier, the Chief Minister laid foundation of building of ITI Una to be constructed at a cost of Rs 11.05 crore.

               He laid foundation stone of construction of EVM/VVPAT Warehouse Una to be completed by spending Rs. 3.74 crore.

                 Later, the Chief Minister laid foundation stone of providing multi village piped water Supply Scheme for Kutlehar Constituency in Dhundla Block and part of Una and Amb Block to be completed by spending an amount of Rs.30 crore.

                He also laid foundation stone of 6 Type-II and 6 Type-III residential accommodations of Health Department to be completed by spending Rs.2.92 crore.

                  He laid foundation stone of Sabzi Mandi Building near HRTC Workshop at Rampur in Una to be constructed by spending Rs. 29 crore.

                  Chief Minister performed Bhoomi Pujan on Kuthar Khurd to Kuthar Kalyan Road for improvement and widening of Link Road in Mohalla Brahmana, lower Bharolian, Lower Dehlan and circular road in village Kuthar Khurd and Kuthar Kalan to be completed at a cost of Rs 3.20 crore.

                   He inaugurated newly constructed office building of RTO Una completed by spending Rs. 2.91 crore.

                  Chief Minister laid foundation stone for providing multi village Piped Water Supply Scheme for Una Constituency in Una Block near HPPWD Rest House Una to be constructed by spending an amount of Rs 32.63 crore.

                  Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of Circuit House Una to be constructed by spending Rs. 3.33 crore.

                 Chief Minister also inaugurated newly constructed Bus Stand Una completed by spending about Rs. 35 crore.

                 Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji was not only a great Guru and a social reformer, but he was a greater thinker. He said that it was due to the efforts of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the Kartarpur corridor was opened so that Sikh Devotees could visit the Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan.  

                 Anurag Thakur said that it was Guru Nanak Dev Ji who preached to give one tenth of their earnings towards charity, which speaks of the concern he had for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden. He also urged the Chief Minister for initiating a project to link major religious places of the region such as Jawala Ji, Naina Devi Ji, Chintarpurni Ji, Baba Balak Nath Ji etc. so that devotees visiting these places could be facilitated. 

                State BJP President Satpal Singh Satti said that Nanak dev ji passed the message of Universal brotherhood and added  that religion was not mere consistence of words but actually looks at all men and women equally. He said that universal brotherhood was a strong theme in Gurbani, written by Guru Nanak Dev ji. He said that Guru Ji spoke of the welfare of the whole humanity and not just of a particular community or a family alone. He also urged the Chief Minister to start teaching Punjabi language in the schools.

                  Members of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's clan Sarbjot Singh Bedi and Amarjot Singh Bedi,  Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar, MLAs Rajesh Thakur and Balbir Singh,  Vice Chairman HIMUDA Praveen Sharma, Vice Chairman SIDC Prof. Ram Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Una Sandeep Kumar were present on the occasion among others.
